Do you ever wonder what states people are moving to and leaving? Do you wonder what states are our most popular American destinations?
Are you considering a move? The Graph provided by Keeping Current Matters shows where Americans are moving to and from in the United States.
The highlights of the graph include:
- For the 4th year in a row the Northeast saw a concentration of High Outbound activity.
- Oregon held on to the top stop of High Inbound states for the 3rd year in a row.
- Much of this Outbound activity can be attributed to Boomers relocating to warmer climates after retiring.
- Delaware is the only “balanced” state in the Mid Atlantic Region and we see a high influx of buyers hailing from the NE Corridor including NY/NJ/CT/PA, as well as, Maryland.
Also, of all of the Boomers we help to relocate to Delaware, most are looking for their new primary residence.
They realize that traveling further south for a few weeks or even a few months is preferable to moving a day away from home. They don’t want to move so far away from family and friends, especially grandchildren, but they do want to escape the high property taxes. That places Delaware ahead of Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina as a prime destination for Boomers.
